The first mission is a building destruction that put me up against Quickdraws (along with the usual turrets, to sensor lock my mechs). I had two Centurions kitted out and backed them up with a Firestarter that I keep around because I get a laugh out of something so tiny packing so many S Lasers, and a Raven I put together to test its mechanics on some one-skull missions. I've been building a lanc explicitly for this! That's pretty harsh already but I said okay, let's check it out. The mechanics, so far, is that I got a four-and-a-half skull Flashpoint with a weight limit and consecutive deployments. Mostly because I've never allied with anyone and wanted to see what the mechanics were. Davion, I think it is? Purple bird-folks. That'd be worth giving up the Raven, provided I can still get another one down the line. Hopefully one of the outcomes includes currying some favour with Liao. I've got enough Rep with Marik so I'm not worried about ticking them off. Didn't lose anybody, and ended up with the last piece of a Star League Griffin. In the end the OPFOR only had a Black Knight and a Shreck standing when the artillery hit, and the Knight got taken out in the blast (The Shreck, admittedly, got stuck behind the mountains and for most of the fight I didn't even realize it was there). I figured I'd end up punching out of everything except the Jenner, but the Steiner defenders were a lot lighter this time, Gwydion's Company was a lot heavier and a lot more useful, and I discovered how deadly a couple of paired Gauss Rifles are against mechs storing ammo in their center torso. Went with a Jenner to loop around the far way and make a mad dash to the evac zone, a Grasshopper for a mix of mobility and armour, an Orion for close range support, and a "Clanbuster" King Crab for long range support. I also re-ran that Marik flashpoint with the Target Acquisition mission. I've tried setting the filter, but I can't seem to find anything. Because right now I don't think that I have any other option for getting out of the hole I've dug myself in with Liao, the Taurians, and the Pirates. And at this point I don't have to worry about pissing them off any worse.ĭoes a bad reputation improve slightly over time if you don't take missions against that faction? I'm not looking for much, just enough that I can start taking missions for them and use their store. Oh well, at least I got the last piece of another SL Highlander out of it. I find out the whole story and realize I can't go along with it. I take maximum reputation and breeze through the first mission.ĭecision time pops up. Sounds a lot sketchier than I'd like, but I figure it's worth giving a shot. I take the job, travel to the world, and then get the briefing. That should get me enough to get out of the worst of this hole, then I can start grinding missions. So, sitting at -98 reputation with Liao and not finding any missions to help raise it, I stumble across the Operation Shattered Earth flashpoint.Īha! Says I.
